Canadian Solar has completed another two PV power plant projects in Japan, totalling 12.7MWp.

‘Silicon Module Super League’ (SMSL) member Canadian Solar has completed another two PV power plant projects in Japan, totalling 12.7MWp.

Canadian Solar said that two plants include the 10.2MWp Aomori Solar Power Plant in Rokunohe Town, Aomori Prefecture and the 2.5MWp Saitama Minano Power Plant in Minano Town, Saitama Prefecture, which came on stream in December, 2016.

The Aomori Solar Power Plant is expected to generate around 11,695MWh of electricity annually, which will be purchased by Tohoku Electric Power under a 20 year feed-in-tariff contract of US$0.31/Kwh.

The smaller Saitama Minano Power Plant is expected to generate around 2,978MWh of electricity annually and taken by Tokyo Electric Power under a20 year feed-in-tariff contract of US$0.27/Kwh. Both projects used Canadian Solar CS6P-P multi c-Si standard baseline 60-cell modules.

In November, 2016 Canadian Solar brought its largest (24MW) PV power plant in Japan on stream.
